1st - 3rd: Artist Spotlights
First, meet local Bronx artists, learn about how they like to create art, and try your hand at creating your own. And then, learn how world-famous artists Frida Kahlo and Henri Matisse overcame challenges in their lives to create art, followed by an activity to create your own masterpieces inspired by them.

Join author and illustrator Charles George Esperanza as we learn how he explores and celebrates the Bronx in his stories and artwork. Then, BxCM Arts Program Manager Chris Gomez will show us how to create our own drawings inspired by Charles’ work.

A single photo is worth a thousand words. Join Bronx-based photographer Edwin J. Torres as he explains how photography helps him express himself. Then, BxCM Arts Program Manager Chris Gomez will demonstrate how to take your own photographs using a SmartPhone or tablet.
